How It Shapes Perception—and Why That Matters

Readability is excellent at intended sizes—32pt+ for print, 48px+ for web headers—but test rigorously at smaller scales. At 14pt on a product label, some characters (like lowercase a, e, and s) begin to blur if printed poorly or viewed on low-res screens. Hierarchy is intuitive: Slancer naturally dominates; anything beside it must recede meaningfully. Pair it with a warm serif font for editorial balance, a clean sans serif for functional contrast, or even a restrained handwritten font for human warmth—but never two expressive display fonts. Practical Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use

• Test in black and white first. Slancer’s charm lives in structure—not color. If it doesn’t sing in grayscale, it won’t save itself with a gradient.

• Review spacing meticulously. Default kerning is strong, but tighten AV, WA, and LT pairs manually in logos. Loosen tracking slightly for all-caps social posts.
• Pair with purpose. Try Slancer beside a classic serif font like Merriweather for book covers, a neutral sans serif like Inter for UI support, a delicate script font for wedding invites, or a grounded handwritten font for maker brands. Avoid pairing with other creative font styles unless you’re aiming for intentional dissonance.
